21/12/2020: So we bought a house
So 2020 has not been the greatest of years for anyone.
It's been full of upset, paranoia and world changing events. I think a lot of us have made tough decisions and re-evaluated our values and aspirations. Some decisions we couldn't make. They were taken out of our hands.
In our case, we took a decision quite early on to isolate - way before Johnson told us to lockdown. My hubby, K, is what is now called CEV - clinically extremely vulnerable. We saw the pictures from Wuhan, and then the news that it had spread to Italy (where my boss was ski-ing) and we took the decision to go home and stay safe.
Who would imagine that 9 months later we would still be here. We haven't gone to the office, shopped, dined or gone on holiday - First World Woes - but strangely enough, somehow, through all the going virtual, social distancing and shielding - we bought ourselves a little quarryman's house in the Peak District. It's our project to see us through these strange times and we decided to record what we're up to in this blog.
